7:00 a.m.
Breakfast

Morning meeting:
9:00 a.m.
Children meet every day on the floor with friends and teachers. Meetings are central to our day. We talk about what is new in the classroom; we share events from home, sing songs, and read books together. Morning meetings brings ideas for long-term projects.

Studio time:
9:00 a.m. – 9:25 a.m.
The studio is the home for our long-term projects. Our studio space has tables to work with clay, places to glue, room for drawing, an easel to explore tempera paint. Watercolor–a quiet, peaceful activity–is offered daily.

Story time:
9:25 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
The teacher reads a story to the class related to the current curriculum finishing with some meditation & yoga.
Child choice:
10:00 a.m. – 10:25 a.m.
Children navigate the many areas prepared daily by our teachers. The choices are: studio, writing, light tables, block building, dramatic area, science table, and reading.

Outdoor time:
11:00 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.
We don’t consider outside time as a break from learning but as another opportunity for hands-on learning experiences playing in our mud kitchen or science laboratory.
Lunch time:
Children and teachers enjoy nutritious lunches together within their classroom communities. Wunderkind is a nut-free school.
Nap time
12:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Snack PM
2:45 p.m. –3:15 p.m.
Wunderkind provides a nutritious snack every day – organic fruit is delivered each week. Children and teachers sit together and share their thoughts. Aiming to reduce waste, we encourage reusable water bottles.

Goodbye
5:00 p.m.
At the end of the day we say good-bye to our friends as they depart for home.
