Full Day Pre-Kindergarten Program
Wunderkind’s Pre-Kindergarten Programs are designed for children who are 4 or 5 years old to prepare them for 1st grade. Our program supports learning, play and exploration and the construction of relationships and ideas while continuing to offer the convenience of full-time child care.
Curriculum
Our pre-kindergarten program focuses on early literacy, numeracy and science skills and includes music, Spanish, the arts, drama and play. The curriculum is designed to foster a love of learning and the ability to ask questions, seek out answers and build self-confidence. We also include nutritional education and wellness in our program, which compliments the healthy, delicious food.
Small Class Size
Wunderkind pre-kindergarten program remains at an 8:1 child to teacher ratio to ensure children receive individualized attention and the support needed to maximize their learning potential.
Adaptive Student Interest Based Learning
Children learn best when their environment is geared to their interests. While every student in our program will gain the skills needed to succeed in first grade, we are not limited by a mandated curriculum. Our small class sizes and our staff trained in adaptive early education allow us to tailor each student’s learning experience to his or her individual interests and developmental levels. The result is a structured atmosphere that encourages and creates self-guided learning – students want to learn because they love what they are doing.
Streamlined Schedules for More Family Time
We recognize how stressful it can be to have one child in child care and another in the school system. For families who have a Pre-K age child and a younger sibling, this program will offer one drop off and pick up location. It also allows kindergartners to remain in full child care with children their own age, rather than in school-sponsored aftercare programs with children as old as 5th and 6th grade.
Full Time Child Care
Students enrolled in our pre-kindergarten program receive full-time child care as part of the program. There is no need to go to a secondary care location before and after school.
Healthy, Yummy Food
As part of our pre-kindergarten program, all of our students have breakfast, lunch and snacks provided cook daily. The menus are created by a nutritionist and approved by kids. Meals are served family-style, with students and teachers sitting and eating at the table together. Our food program extends beyond the lunch table. We focus on teaching children where food comes from and the basic knowledge of food groups, vitamins and minerals.
